AVIcode Intercept Studio Version 2.0 to Feature Event Chain Consolidation, Enterprise Reporting, and Support for .NET Application Development Lifecycle

AVIcode will demonstrate a Beta version of Intercept Studio 2.0 at Microsoft TechEd 2004 in San Diego, May 23-28, in the Management Pavilion.

AVIcode Intercept Studio is designed to improve the manageability and reliability of applications by providing defect root-cause information from operations to development. With AVIcode Intercept Studio, customers can quickly diagnose operational errors and performance hotspots in ASP.NET and web services applications built for the .NET Framework.

AVIcode Intercept Studio 2.0 also promises to dramatically lower application development and software maintenance costs by providing a unified application fault management environment that increases the performance, security, and scalability of enterprise-critical software.

New features of Intercept Version 2.0 include: enhanced event visualization support (Event Chain Consolidation), providing developers with one view of all events across multiple servers; integration with enterprise level reporting exposing more internal information to external systems, thus enabling event correlation, and integration with enterprise software development tools and change management processes.

AVIcode Intercept Studio 2.0 consists of 3 major components:

• Exception-Monitor server agent attaches to any ASP.NET or Web service application in production. X-Monitor collects complete information about the error to include call stack, object state, and functional parameters without the need for time-consuming code modifications.
• Performance-Monitor server agent collects detailed information about any ASP.NET or Web service application performance bottlenecks with complete call stack and resource specific information like execution times for embedded SQL queries, LDAP queries, web services requests, calls to TCP/IP services, etc.
• Structured Event-Viewer Server is a powerful and convenient management tool that provides an easy-to-use interface for consolidating event information generated by P-Monitor and X-Monitor agents installed on application servers. AVIcode Intercept Studio 2.0 includes the following integration modules designed to improve the manageability of the application development lifecycle from end-to-end:
• AVIcode Intercept Management Pack for MOM 2005 extends the functionality of Microsoft Operations Manager 2005 to include root cause error information and analysis provided by Intercept Studio 2.0. Intercept Studio’s integration with Microsoft Operations Manager is delivered entirely within the MOM console.
• AVIcode Intercept Web Parts for Visual Studio 2005 Project Portal extends the functionality of Visual Studio to include root cause error information and analysis provided by Intercept Studio 2.0. Intercept Studio’s integration is delivered entirely within the Sharepoint-enabled Web interface of Visual Studio Project Portal.
