Genoa Color Technology
Teams With MicroDisplay and Uneed
to Create a “Super Set”
Las Vegas, Nev., Consumer Electronics Show---January 6, 2005 -- Genoa Color Technologies (booth 20666), MicroDisplay Corporation and Uneed Systems have combined resources to create a demonstration model television that, according to Genoa spokesman Simon Lewis, “compares with the best-in-class rear-projection TV displays.” The demonstration, assembled specifically for the 2005 CES, comprises two 43-inch rear projection high-definition (1280 x 720 pixel) televisions manufactured by Uneed Systems and featuring LCOS (Liquid Crystal On Silicon) panels provided by MicroDisplay Corporation. To highlight the display-enhancing capabilities of Genoa’s technology, one set will feature the unique ColorPeakTM system and the other conventional RGB (red, blue, green). Genoa expects that the TV using ColorPeak will show a noticeably larger color gamut and a 50 percent increase in brightness. “So that the industry can fully realize the effectiveness of Genoa’s ColorPeak technology, it must be demonstrated with the best state-of-the-art equipment available,” said Ilan Ben-David, Genoa’s founder and CEO. “That’s why we are proud to collaborate with MicroDisplay Corporation and Uneed Systems to present this important side-by-side comparison.” Attendees of CES 2005 will also be able to see Genoa’s ColorPeak technology demonstrated on a Uneed 52-inch set at Daewoo (booth 12214).
