Award Winning Genoa Color to Unveil “Killer App” For LCD Technology at CES

Las Vegas, Nev., Consumer Electronics Show---January 6, 2005 -- At the 2005 CES Genoa Color Technologies will be demonstrating its ColorPeakTM multi-primary color (MPC) technology in a format many industry insiders say will be the “killer app” that finally wins greater acceptance for LCD television. According to Genoa spokesperson Simon Lewis, “Our ColorPeak prototype features an image that surpasses the most advanced LCDs in the world.” Genoa, recent winner of the Grand Award in the Home Entertainment category of Popular Science magazine’s 2004 Best Of What’s New competition, will be exhibiting the LCD, as well as ColorPeak-enhanced front and rear projection sets, through January 9 at booth number 20666.

“The thin profile of LCD television provides a very attractive form factor but their image quality hasn’t compelled many consumers to pay the relatively high price,” said Hafiz Haq, executive vice president of Genoa Color Technologies. “As our demonstration shows, LCD panels enhanced by ColorPeak have a brighter picture with colors like gold and turquoise---impossible to replicate on ordinary TVs---vividly present. This will provide the performance edge---the “killer app” if you will---that will make these flat panel TVs irresistible.”

ColorPeak is a radical departure from the RGB television display technology that has been the industry standard for more than 50 years. It adds one to three primary colors to increase a television set’s coverage of the visible color gamut by approximately 35 percent and increase its brightness by as much as 40 percent. The result is a picture that, with its truer, more vibrant color and brighter image, looks more like cinema than video. Genoa uses advanced real-time algorithms and modifications to the color display elements to translate existing video data into multi-primary color. Genoa has over 50 patents pending that apply to the concepts, processes, algorithms and implementation of its ColorPeak technology.

“Genoa’s flat panel multi-primary implementation offers a unique cost-effective path to exceptional color performance in the fastest growing segment of the TV market,” said Ilan Ben-David, Genoa’s founder and CEO. “We hope that our industry colleagues will visit us to see the future of color television.”
