Questra Corporation Joins Phone.com Alliance Program
New Alliance to Help Questra's Customers Extend Business Applications to Wireless Devices Rochester, N.Y. -- April 11, 2000 -- Questra Corporation, an Internet systems integration firm whose clients in the high-tech, manufacturing and telecommunications industries include Xerox, Kodak, Sharp, Motorola, MCI WorldCom, Hewlett Packard and Siemens, announced today that it has joined the Phone.com Alliance Program. The alliance will allow Questra to enable its clients' existing Internet applications to take advantage of Phone.com's wireless technology -- notably its UP.Browser interactive microbrowser for mobile phones. Among its many features, the UP.Browser presents graphical and textual information, accepts user choices and interprets alphanumeric data entry, enabling any Web-based application to perform sophisticated interactions with a wireless subscriber. Ultimately, the UP.Browser increases productivity by bringing the power of two-way Web communication to the wireless handset. Questra s proficiency in e-appliances development and enterprise system integration and Phone.com's UP.Link Platform create a potent combination uniquely suited to creating wireless solutions, said John Canosa, Questra s chief scientist and director of Questra' s iLAB, an applied Internet development center specializing in Web technologies. "Questra's goal of enabling organizations and people to interact using the Internet anytime, anywhere, over any device, is now more easily within reach." "We are pleased to have Questra onboard," said Kathy Simpson, director of developer marketing for Phone.com. "Their expertise in systems integration will enable businesses to extend internal infrastructures to mobile workforces, suppliers and customers, decreasing costs and increasing enterprise efficiency. The Phone.com Alliance Program aims to promote the concept of wireless information access and coordinate the exchange of ideas and information among its members, other companies developing wireless Internet products and services, and Phone.com's network operators. Questra Corporation joins a growing list of companies that includes content providers, application developers, tools providers and systems integrators using the Phone.com product family.
