HOTRES.com Offers Visitors to New York City Hotel Rooms at Discounted Winter Prices Stamford, CT -- January 9, 2001 --In recent years New York City hotel prices have skyrocketed. At $189 per night, average room rates in 1999 and 2000 were the highest in the nation. During this time of record hotel occupancy, visitors to Manhattan usually have no other alternative than to pay a premium for the hotel of their choice. A better option is a visit to www.HOTRES.com, a Web site where travelers to New York City can easily find and reserve hotel roomsóoften at discounted prices. Because reservations are confirmed against a guaranteed block of rooms HOTRES.com users can often find accommodations at a better room rate than the hotel itself is offering. For example, a recent HOTRES special for the Wellington Hotel offered rooms at $99 per night through January 18th. A call directly to the reservation desk at the hotel would get you the same room for $165 per night. Currently, HOTRES is offering rooms at the Marriott Marquis for $199 per night. Hotel reservations have the same room available for $265 per night. Boston Globe's travel writer, Christopher Lofting, in a September 24th 2000 article, wrote that HOTRES.com and the Web site of the New York Visitors and Convention Bureau were "two of the best for bargains in New York." He also stated that HOTRES.com offered a good selection of hotels with listings of special sales at featured properties. Among the 30 hotels offered by HOTRES.com are the Ramada New Yorker, Grand Hyatt, Novotel, Algonquin, Intercontinental, Marriott Marquis, Milford Plaza, Pennsylvania, Radisson, Sheraton and the Waldorf Astoria. They are categorized as Moderate (two stars), First Class (three stars), Superior (four stars) and Deluxe (five stars). All offer single, double (one double or queen size bed) or twin (two beds) accommodations. In many hotels children under 15 stay free if they share a room with parents. There are no minimum stays and with each reservation customers may book as many as three rooms for up to 14 nights. "HOTRES.com has built a reputation for providing excellent service and while we don't usually promote based on price, the winter months will bring some of our hottest hotel specials," said company founder Kerrin Behrend. "Discounts will include some of the higher end properties as well as more moderate hotels." To make reservations with HOTRES.com users choose a hotel (or category of hotel) and enter their arrival date and length of stay. HOTRES.com will respond immediately with availability and pricing and offer a number of available alternatives. After a selection is made, HOTRES.com confirms all the details and requests a credit card for billing. The user can print a confirmation page with a hotel voucher to present at check in. (A similar page is sent to the user's e-mail address.) Reservations are guaranteed for the night of arrival. |
